I've got a few things for you this week!

A pattern I want you to notice, plus a workshop coming up September 22nd.

There's a version of listening that looks like listening. Eye contact, nodding, the right amount of "mm-hmm." And underneath it, a different conversation entirely: what am I going to say next, did that come out weird, is this the moment to bring up the thing I've been holding onto for three weeks.

That's autopilot. It's not rude and it's not disinterest. It's a nervous system trying to stay one step ahead of a conversation instead of actually being in it.

This month we're pulling that apart in The Stress Zodiac Collective , what communication autopilot looks like for each of the four signs, and what it takes to actually turn it off. Beliza Perez, a therapist who's spent years untangling exactly this with families, joins us as Star Speaker later this month.

While we're on the topic, if you haven't seen her FamGabs conversation cards and fidgets, they're worth a look! Built to get families and caregivers actually talking instead of defaulting to the same three questions. Fam Gabs products

Clear Space, Calm Mind, my virtual workshop with Erin Villareal, is coming up September 22nd. This workshops is specifically designed for moms and busy women that are tired of the overwhelm clutter brings. If the clutter that's been quietly adding to your stress load has been sitting on your to-do list, this is a good place to actually start finding tools on how to manage it. Details here

We also still have room for The Stress Zodiac Retreat this November, and more in-person events coming in 2027 if you're craving something in person.

Big hugs,

Cindy
